Doodle's first day of kindergarten

Today I took Doodle for his first day of actual school.  He has been nervous in the days and weeks leading up to today, but he did great this morning.  He woke up around 7:00, wanted to get dressed and brush his teeth first thing -- very unusual for Doodle -- and then watched an episode of Wild Kratts.  He had a good breakfast and seemed pretty relaxed and ready to go when his friend came over (for me to give him a ride).  We took some pictures and off we went.  When we first got to the playground outside his classroom he asked, "what do we do now?"  I told him he could play for a few minutes before school started.  He waited on line after the first bell rang and when his teacher opened the door he marched right in and found his name on the table.  He was sitting with two of his friends, which was great for him.

I am going to pick him up this afternoon.  I'm anxious to find out what he thought of the day and what they did.  I hope he wants to go back tomorrow!

Surprisingly, I did not shed a tear.  I got a little teary reading to him last night, but this morning there were dry eyes all around.
